Sync App Version Management
Beginning with Sync App version 2.5.293, Sync App updates will no longer be applied automatically. Below are different ways you can update Sync App yourself.
Terminology
Sync Portal - Sync website (sync.logitech.com)
Sync App - The desktop Sync application
Sync Agent - Backend application of the Sync App. Runs in the background.
Sync Portal
If your Sync App is provisioned to Sync Portal (read about provisioning here), you can easily manage your Sync App version from Sync Portal.
Log into Sync Portal and click on Sync App in the dashboard.
Select "Update now" or "Schedule update."
You can update the app for all rooms at once or for your defined groups.
You can also update individual rooms from the room view.
Sync App
You can easily update Sync App directly from the application itself.
If there is an update available when you open Sync App, you’ll see an indication on the main screen.
After clicking on the update message, you can choose to update Sync App now or schedule the update for later.
Windows Update
Sync App can be updated as a part of your Logitech video conferencing product INF driver update. When a new Sync App version is available, your Logitech video conferencing product driver will show an available optional update in Windows Update.
Windows Update supported devices are; Rally Bar, Rally Bar Mini, Rally, Rally Camera, Meetup, Tap, and Scribe.
Sync Agent
Sync Agent is automatically downloaded when a supported Logitech video conferencing product is connected. Sync Agent runs silently in the background to enable features like RightSight for Rally and MeetUp.
Once Sync Agent has been downloaded on the first plug of a device, it will not automatically update.
To update, follow one of the previous methods outlined above under Sync Portal, Sync App, and Windows Update.
