When you use the hidden button on your mouse, it behaves as it would when you perform a Command-Tab on your macOS, and goes between apps.

If you perform a single press, it will go between the two most recent apps you opened. If you perform a long-press, it will show all the opened apps. You can use the cursor to select the app you want to go to.
